In First Grade, we focus on learning to read, understand, and use the English language in oral and written form. Reading is done in individual, small, and large group instruction, and is integrated in every content area. Vocabulary development, writing, spelling, decoding, sight words, phonetics, word families, and correct grammatical usage is emphasized. In addition, math concepts, science, social studies, geography, music, art, and technology is taught.

Objective: Students continue their in-depth study of the Bible. They will memorize Bible scriptures and study the context of the scriptures. Students will apply Biblical principles to their daily lives and demonstrate the love of Christ to others, as evidenced by their interactions with others.
